There are no two ways about it, Christmas is genuinely the most wonderful time of the year, and as a toy store, it’s just a tiny little bit extra special for us.
Ok, who are we kidding? This is our jam baby!! We’re like that overexcited kid on the stage who’s been waiting for their big moment in the spotlight!
Christmas in Australia may not be about fireplaces, eggnog and carollers, but we've branded it our own kind of special.
For us, it’s fairy lights along gutters, and an inflatable Santa on the front lawn. It’s end-of-year school concerts and watching your child sing about snow in far-away places. It’s light-up earrings and oversized Christmas hats, and queuing up for Santa photos in your local shopping centre. It’s ginger ale punch, crisp cold prawns, and Uncle Bill complaining about the heat. Its summer storms rolling in at the end of a hot day, and lightning splitting the humid air.
It’s genuinely the most wonderful time of the year.
And if you’re a kid, it’s special for another reason too. It’s the brightly coloured packages beneath the tree, and a sack full of presents on Christmas morning! (Note to all you wonderful parents: before you feel too uncomfortable about that, we’re also teaching our children the notion of giving and receiving, and of thoughtfully choosing for someone you love).
